Traveling around South Korea’s major cities is a breeze thanks to an efficient and extensive public transport system. Seoul, Busan, and other metropolitan areas are well-connected by modern subways, reliable buses, and convenient taxis. Subways are the quickest way to get around, with signs and announcements in English. Buses cover routes beyond the subway lines, and taxis are also readily available. Uber is also available if needed for travellers.
Use a T-money card for seamless transfers across all modes of public transport and enjoy a hassle-free journey. Note that only cash is allowed for T-money topup and you can easily buy the T-money card from convenience stores in airport upon reaching.

Car Rental
A car might be more convenient in certain locations, especially in destinations like Jeju Island. Discover the convenience of driving through Jeju’s scenic routes, visiting iconic landmarks at your own pace. Reputable car rental companies such as Lotte Rent-a-Car, AJ Rent-a-Car, and Hertz offer reliable services in Jeju, Busan, and other cities.

International Data & Navigation
Opt for eSIM for hassle-free activation and flexible plans, or purchase a local SIM card for reliable and affordable data access. Major providers like KT, SK Telecom, and LG U+ offer convenient SIM card services at airports and retail stores. Additionally, take advantage of widespread public Wi-Fi available in cafes, hotels, and popular tourist spots to stretch your data plans!.
Be sure to download the Naver app at a minimum for proper navigation as Google Maps do not work reliably in South Korea. Use Google Maps for the Korean address of locations and search via Naver for directions as English address might not be sufficient. Google translate with camera function is highly useful for reading Korean signs.

Credit Card/ Cash
International travellers can easily use widely accepted credit and debit cards for most purchases, including at restaurants, shops, and hotels. However, be sure to also carry some cash for small expenses like street food, market shopping, and T-money card top-ups for public transport. Bringing around 100,000 to 150,000 KRW in cash per person should cover these needs based on duration and spending, ensuring you’re always prepared for every adventure.
